Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a teacher in one of the lowest income/highest poverty schools in our district our students face many obstacles. My goal is for my students to walk away understanding that education is the key to success in life and for college readiness. We are molding positive contributors to our school community and the community outside of our district.
This year I am teaching a diverse range of enthusiastic mathematicians in need of great social-emotional support.
I am fortunate to understand that all students have the capacity to be GREAT thinkers and I want to work with them to help them discover their own love for learning through. When our students love to learn teaching becomes much more organic within the classroom.
My students love to work together and bring such life and joy into the classroom each and every day. They come eager to learn, work on group projects, learn new things and come with the skills needed to be successful. I need rich, engaging and supportive resources to push my students to their fullest potential.
My Project
Entering into this upcoming school year I want to ensure that my students are able to wear a mask all day in order to keep themselves safe and protected. Although, students and staff will be provided a disposable mask a week this is not to ensure that they will have what they need to feel protected as they come back to school.
Health and safety needs to be a priority for my students.
Hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes will ensure that not only are they keeping keeping themselves protected, but their classroom environment will be clean, sanitized and safe. My goal will this project is to ensure a healthy learning for my students during these unprecedented times.
