This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from low economic backgrounds where their neighborhood is surrounded by negativity, crime, and violence. Somehow my students manage to come to school every day despite their current urban surroundings.
My school is a safe haven for all the children in the community where they can come and feel safe and know that each person in the building loves each of them whole-heartedly.
The majority of my students are more than two grade levels behind and need additional material in order to build them up to their rightful grade level. We currently have about 50% of our students who reside in homeless shelters nearby. Based on the current data, students require additional phonics practice to build them up to their current grade level.
My Project
By receiving the donation of children mask will help keep our students safe. Students usually do not come to school with mask and or they somehow rip their mask and are in constant need of new mask. Also, due to the pandemic various new rise variants of the Covid-19 there has been significant increase of mask usage now more than ever. There has also been significant increase of students who come to school with improper sized mask and or clean mask. In order to keep all of our students safe we are in need of children sized face mask to help stop the spread of Covid-19 in our school.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
