My Students
My district is offering an innovative public-school Montessori program for students and parents in Detroit. We are presenting our students with individualized learning programs as well as high-quality curricular materials!
I have the privilege of teaching 25 bright 1st to 3rd-grade students this year in a Montessori, mixed-age environment.
My students will learn English Language Arts, Mathematics, Botany, Geography, History and more. We will also strive to have a peaceful community and learn the social skills needed to thrive in our classroom and world.
My Project
In the Montessori classroom, students have the independence to study a wide variety of subjects from Mathematics to Botany. This project will help my students get the additional Montessori materials we will need to start the year off right. The hundreds board will help us with the study of Mathematics and enumeration. Students will sequence the tiles in order to 100 as well as complete many additional follow up activities to learn patterns with numbers within 100. The phonetic reading blocks will help us read and spell consonant vowel consonant words. Lastly, the baskets will help keep our beautiful new materials neatly kept and artfully arranged so they can be frequently used throughout the year!
