Marvelous Mathematicians in need of Math Materials!

Help me give my students multiplication flashcards, base ten blocks, fraction measuring spoons and cups for our math centers.

My Project

This school year, I want to provide my students with a variety of hands-on math tools to use during our math centers. My hope is that ALL my students will be thoroughly engaged with this year’s various math concepts.

The math materials requested will offer students a hands-on way to gain a deeper understanding of multiplication, division, place value, fractions, and even time!

For our multiplication unit, I am requesting the Junior Learning Multiplication Flashcards and the Hand2mind Build-A-Grid, Dry Erase Multiplication. Students will use the flashcards to practice and master their multiplication facts. These flashcards have visual array models which can help students see the mathematical relationships between multiplication, division, and area.

The Lakeshore Build & Learn Volume Kit will help students explore the different ways to find volume and create shapes with the same volume. The Learning Resources Geometric Solids, Wooden Shapes will help students learn more about the properties and attributes of 3-D shapes.

For our fraction unit, I am requesting the Hand2mind Rainbow Fraction Measuring Spoons, the Hand2mind Rainbow Fraction Measuring Cups, and the EAI Education Fraction Model Multipliers. The measuring spoons and measuring cups will offer students a hands-on way to learn more about fraction equivalence and fraction comparisons.

I am requesting the Hand2mind mini 100 Bead Wooden Rekenrek, the Hand2mind Double-sided Plastic abacus and the Learning Resources Plastic Base Ten Flats and Decimeter Cubes. These items will help students visualize numbers and patterns, as well as help develop addition and subtraction skills.

Finally, I am requesting the Hand2mind Advanced NumberLine Clock and the Hand2mind Elapsed Time Rods. Students will use these manipulatives to learn how to tell time on an analog clock.
