This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
During math, we are solving multi-step word problems using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division and expressing our different methods for solving, while analyzing right and wrong answers. But now, it’s more important than ever for my students to be fully engrossed in the world of STEM. It’s important for me to engage my students to ask questions and search for solutions. It’s important for them to create and challenge. To imagine and innovate. To know they can become STEM leaders by exposing them to resources showcasing individuals that look like them.
I want to provide my students with all the resources they need to set them off on the right foot and take part in our next learning journey together.
We are working on an engaging and hands-on project focused on solving different math problems - using addition, subtraction, multiplication & division - all related to the slime factory!
As our culminating project, students will make their own slime and celebrate! When students feel cared for, loved & engaged, their learning will improve.
My students are motivated, interested, and engaged in the world they are growing up in and want to make a difference.
