As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, I see that my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My students are eager to learn and come to school everyday with bright, shining faces.
My students in my two special education instructional reading classes have specific learning and emotional disabilities. My main goal is to make reading fun for them!
My Project
My students need games and activities to enhance math skills. The various levels of versatile books will allow me to select learning activities for the different levels in my classroom.
Textbook math day after day can be dry and boring.
The versatile books will allow my students to practice math skills in a fun and engaging matter. Students are given a page of math skills to complete without a textbook or a teacher standing in front of them lecturing the entire math class time.
After completing the activities in the books, students will be able to self-check their answers. This will give my students a sense of ownership in the learning process.
