My Students

My young mathematicians love to learn. Math is a great way for my students to explore and enhance their learning. In my classroom, students learn with manipulatives, but we do not have enough center activities. Our day consists of a problems based portion and center based portion.

I have a classroom of 18 eager to learn students.

We love to do centers for math, but lack the appropriate materials. We are a title 1 school in a rural area with limited funding for classroom material. DonorsChoose is a great way to have a positive impact on student learning in my classroom.

My Project

Students will use the problem solving cards and center folder games to learn and practice their skills both independently and with a partner. The activities are related to the Common Core standards, which will prepare the students for 21st Century learning. If a student struggles with a concept, the games could even be sent home to continue their skill development.

With these activities the students will be able to have a better understanding of the Common Core math standards.

They will become better problem solvers and thinkers. Not only do these materials impact my students, they can be shared with the other 2 second grade classes as well. Your impact just multiplied!
