Help me give my students the art supplies necessary to access their project-based learning and to express themselves, as well as the cleaning supplies needed to keep the classroom organized.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a high school teacher, I’ve come to understand that the learning environment plays a critical role in student engagement and success. The specific items requested—drawing supplies, poster paper, cleaning supplies, fidget toys, and window decorations—are not just classroom extras; they are tools that can transform the space into a more vibrant, inclusive, and productive environment. Drawing supplies and poster paper will allow students to express their understanding creatively, encouraging visual learning and collaboration on group projects. Cleaning supplies help maintain a tidy, respectful space that students can take pride in, while fidget toys provide subtle sensory support for students who need help focusing. Window decorations brighten the classroom, making it feel more welcoming and less institutional, which can positively affect students’ moods and willingness to participate.
My goal for this project is to foster a classroom where all students feel comfortable, focused, and inspired to learn.
By providing diverse tools and resources, I want to meet students where they are—cognitively, emotionally, and creatively. These items will support differentiated instruction and make the classroom feel more like a community space than just a place for tests and lectures. What makes my students special is their resilience and creativity. Many of them face challenges outside of school, yet they show up every day ready to learn, connect, and express themselves. They deserve a learning environment that reflects their potential and supports their individual needs. These resources are small investments that will make a big difference in honoring their uniqueness and supporting their growth.
