I work in a high needs school with students who fall near or below the poverty line. This is a high school where many of the students receive their only meals of the day. When students are focusing on the day to day of life, the minutia of school sometimes gets lost. They are smart and lively students who are trying to better themselves for the future that they want to have. We should do what we can to help.
My Project
Students are always in need of materials to help them learn. One of the most basic materials is writing materials. The students at my school are more worried about where their next meal will come from than if they have what they need for class. It is, therefore, the teacher's responsibility to ensure that the students have everything that they need to be successful.
Using color pencils and highlighters to differentiate what they are learning is key to helping the students understand, and every student needs a few pencils.
Every student needs a little assistance to become their dream self.
