Mario, Airplanes, LEGOS...Oh My!

Help me give my students masks, glasses, and gliders for engaging costumes and activities to make learning come alive.

My Students

My kiddos are one of a kind! I like to think that my classroom is one of a kind as well! We are a school of 600 kids in a rural area in Wisconsin and 18 of those kids get to spend their days with me. My students are the reason I wake up in the morning to go to work and the reason I stay up late at night trying to find the next "big" thing. My job is to help them have positive learning experiences. I love the expressions on their faces when they learn something new! I look forward to working with my little students every day and hopefully helping them become little men and women that will make a positive impact on our world.

My Project

I love to do class transformations in my room. The kids love to dress up in costumes and participate in engaging activities. All activities are centered around our common core standards. By adding a costume or a little gadget, learning comes to life. The Mario outfits will be for our annual Mario Day. Kids work through different levels by completing math, reading, and writing projects. The LEGO glasses are for LEGO day. This is a day full of STEM activities. Teamwork is at the center of all the activities that the kids must complete throughout the day. Finally, the gliders are for National Wright Brothers Day. What a great way to explore famous Americans and see how their invention changed the world. All of these activities are engaging, fun, and promote high levels of learning.
