My Students

My students are in a Marine Biology class but our school doesn't have enough money for dissections or live specimens. We live close enough to the beach that we can explore live animals there but we definitely will not have the opportunity to dissect - without your help!

My students are very bright and curious.

They love learning and they inspire me to provide them with the best learning opportunities possible. Many of my students come from all over the city just to attend our school. They represent the diversity of our city ethnically, linguistically, and socioeconomically. They also represent a wide range of academic abilities from special education to English language learners to gifted students and I am challenged with meeting all of their learning needs.

My Project

Some of my students have mentioned an interest in animal husbandry and veterinary medicine and I'd like to give them this opportunity to explore animal physiology. We will use these Dogfish shark specimens in marine biology to do a comparative physiology study and in biology we will use the fetal pigs to culminate our study of the mammalian body systems.

Your donation will help me provide my students with a memorable opportunity to learn about physiology.

This experience, whether in biology or marine biology, will help me provide my students with an experience that will prepare them for college level science classes. Thank you for considering your donation to my project.
