This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are English learners from kindergarten to fifth grade who are eager to learn English so they can feel more like their peers, but anxious about fitting in their community until they can communicate better.
I want to provide ample reminders to my students on how we all come from different places, but are here together now.
Displaying multiple world maps and countries will allow students to feel connected to their native home while building comfort in their new one. Through this I will be able to connect students to each other and help them see we will go through this learning process together.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
