Manufacturing Master Materials

My Project

Manufacturing deals with prototyping large projects in smaller form to check for efficiency and tolerance. We 3d print these prototypes constantly! We have added rolls of filament to our project so that we can keep our printers going and our prototypes rolling out. Most people don't know, but it takes a lot of glue sticks to make 3d parts! That is why we asked for these.

We also use our laser engraver to help boost the learning of design software.

Our freshmen class will need to learn Solidworks to 3d model a project and then send a 2d file to our laser using Corel Draw. Processing between different software is imperative for students to learn. This year we thought we might have them design a snowflake and be able to burn it out on the laser.

Our advanced classes work with local businesses to learn parts of the trade and every year we design thank you plaques for those companies using our laser engraver and acrylic.
