This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I want to add updated math manipulatives in my classroom this year. With an assortment of math counters to choose from, my students will always have the opportunity to have hands on learning at their finger tips.
I am a first grade teacher to 19 students in a low income, hard working area of Texas.
A majority of my students come from economically challenged homes. I know the best way to have students who are eager to learn is to keep them engaged! My classroom is active, hands-on, and learner centered.
My Project
With these manipulatives my students will always be able to apply hands on learning to the skill that we are working on. Too many times I am limited in my instruction and activities because I lack the resources that I need to allow the students to apply their thinking through hands on manipulatives. With the variety of counters, dice, spinners, and pattern cards that I am requesting, my students will not be limited because of a lack of resources. I will use these manipulatvies in my math stations and also in my lessons to have that hands on visual at my students finger tips.
Please donate to my classroom!
With these materials our classroom will not be a limited to just a few manipulatives, but an assortment that will help to maximize student understanding and apply hands on learning opportunities.
More than half of students from low‑income households
