My Project
These materials are for Seasons stews throughout the year. These materials are for Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer/Oceans. The worm manipulatives can be used to also measure with non standardized measurements to help the students learn to measure and compare items.
Stews are a great way to help students not only learn to count with hands on approach but they also work on adding and number recognition.
These are great activities to give students with a teacher and one they learn what to do they can use them independently too. They are also developing their fine motor skills by grabbing the different materials. For Winter they can be asked to place 4 icicles, 7 snowman and 9 snowballs (white pom poms) into a pot. They can then add all these items together to see how many they added all together. Not only does this have them counting and matching quantity but it also has them adding in a way they may not realize what hey are doing quite yet.
Mini erasers and counters also make great math manipulatives for any lesson because they are hands on and help students with understanding quantity in regards to numbers by seeing that visual.
