My Project
As a 2nd year teacher I am still building my toolbox of learning materials for my classroom. I am in need of more variety in my manipulative toolbox so that my students can stay engaged and work on important skills they will build through playing such as social skills and fine motor development. In this project I've included manipulatives that can be rotated as we play with them, and also light table accessories so we can make the most of our light table. I've also included games and puzzles to add to my toolbox that can be used for our "game of the week". I use a game of the week to focus on specific skills such as turn taking, social engagement, learning academic skills, and other important skills.
Manipulatives are an important part of a play-based pre-school classroom so that we can provide important and intentional teaching moments.
My goal is that all of my students look forward to coming to school each day to a fun and welcoming environment, and the materials in this project will help me accomplish that.
