My Students

I teach a special ed modified math class in Middle School for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. Every one of my students has capabilities, strengths, and talents. My students learn better when they have an exciting and engaging learning environment. They are hands-on and visual learners and benefit greatly from activities that they can participate in.

I have 39 amazing students!

Each one of my students strives to do their very best.

My Project

Research from both learning theory and classroom studies shows that using manipulatives (blocks, flashcards, dice, protractors) to help teach math can positively affect student learning.

Incorporating manipulatives into mathematics lessons in meaningful ways helps students grasp concepts with greater ease, making teaching most effective.

Since my students learn at different speeds and different levels having the appropriate manipulatives for math will help them understand our math objectives and it will also create a more hands-on and engaging learning environment.

I want my students to love math and love learning in different ways. I want them to be able to take what they have learned and apply it to real-world situations and problems making them more successful in whatever they chose to do in their future careers.
