Manipulatives For Math

My students need manipulatives (flash cards, interactive games, tan grams) that will help them have a visual and hands-on way to practice skills that are taught in class.

My Students

What ways did you enjoy practicing what you learned in class? In my room, I have learned that my students are more the visual and hands on type.

In my classroom, I have many different kinds of learners.

The one way that I can be guaranteed for them to comprehend is with a visual or hands on approach. The items I am hoping for will give students the opportunity to utilize that aspect all the while being actively engaged in learning.

My Project

The items I am hoping for will give students alternative ways to become more engaged, while practicing skills need for mastery during grade. Imagine a student who may be struggling with their subtraction facts. Sitting with a classmate during a scheduled center doing drills will be an ideal way to help with practicing this skill. Or students practicing recognizing place values spots while playing BINGO as a whole group. These are just some of the ways that these donations will be used.

I am hoping that the use of the donations will help my students master skills associated with place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, time, and money.

I believe that giving my students alternative ways to practice these skills will help them.
