My Students
Imagine walking into kindergarten without any preparation. No interaction with other kids, classrooms or teachers. Scary, huh? My classroom helps prepare students so they do not have to be overwhelmed in a new environment. I help these students form their basic and fundamental skills before jumping into the big world of general education kindergarten.
The students in my classroom vary in skill levels, age, gender, and race.
However, they all share one thing in common. They are so excited to learn!
My Project
My students work in their blue bins every morning. These bins contain manipulatives and activities geared toward early learning. Student use the contents of their work bins to practice skills in math, fine motor, pre-academic reediness, cognition, social/emotional, and problem solving. The counters, magnets, animals, and other manipulatives will allow students to further practice these skills. For example, the bears can be used for color and size sorting, sharing with classmates, counting, and patterns,
Sometimes it is difficult for some students to sit still while doing their work.
That is why a wobble chair would be perfect! Student's are able to wiggle and wobble while doing their work and not interrupting their classmates learning.
