Help me give my students a variety of hands on learning tools to engage them and meet their needs. Magnetic letters, numbers and money will give students an opportunity to access concepts in meaningful, and developmentally appropriate ways.

My Project

The manipulatives and classroom resources I have selected will help my students access concepts in a hands on way that is appropriate for their varied needs. My classroom is a self contained life skills class and my students are on multiple levels cognitively. Unfortunately classrooms like mine aren't always equipped with resources that are appropriate for students.

Many times items in these classrooms lack educational value or are either too simple or difficult for students with severe cognitive delays.

It's my hope that by introducing my students to different concepts using manipulatives and a hands on learning approach they will be engaged and begin to master the things we are learning.

A variety of magnetic resources will allow students who don't have the fine motor skills to write to access letters and numbers. Floor puzzles and sensory items offer independent activities for students to do during small group rotations. Additionally clear storage bins will help keep these items organized in an easily accessible manner. Please consider donating to my classroom! Your support means the world!
