My Project
These specific items will have an incredible impact on my students because they will allow for a lot of hands-on learning opportunities. Movement for younger students allows for better engagement and that leads to more successful student learning. Magnetic numbers and letters requires students to move pieces where they need to go to create the correct word or to complete a number sentence. These materials make learning seem more like a game than a chore or job. Learning can be fun with the right materials.
My goals for this project is to build up on resources and manipulatives to create more game-like learning opportunities in my classroom.
I want students to understand that school does take a lot of work but that a lot of fun can be had on the journey to success.
There are so many incredible things that make each student that enters into my classroom special but one of my personal favorites is the diversity of each child. The diversity in race, ethnicity, socio-economic status. These are all things that have and will continue to shape them into an incredible human being. I just want them to know that just like learning, life can be challenging sometimes but there is a lot of fun to be had a long the way.
