This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

How frustrating is it to see the same Math dittos and still not have a clue as how to solve them? This is what my students face every day.

My wonderful students come from a low income, inner city school in New York City.

Over 90% receive free breakfast and lunch. Many are first generation Americans where English is their second language. They are all eager to learn but unfortunately get little help at home.

My Project

My students struggle with Math concepts and the materials I have requested are geared toward their success. The problem solving and daily Math practice journals will give them repetitive practice in each core area of Mathematics. The dry erase boards will allow me to quickly assess each student as we are practicing and will give my students hours of hands-on fun. The Fraction Stax will give my children a more visual, concrete understanding of the difficult concept of fractions.
