My students need 12 human figure manikins, a drawing instructional DVD, 12 boxes of crayons, 1 set of 8 paints, and 4 packs of construction paper.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Jahnig's classroom raised $189
This project is fully funded
I want Manikins to be standing around for my K-5 students to observe! My art classroom needs to inspire my students when they are drawing people. This is a focus for all of my 330 students!
I was showing my 1st graders how to draw people today, and I talked about poses. I showed them the running pose, walking pose...etc. Then I showed them my one manikin, and they wanted it. Sadly, I only had one. I mentioned if their partner wouldn't pose, I would pose. It was the cutest thing when they were posing, but they can't hold a pose for very long. All of my budget has to go to different media, and I have no wiggle room for manikins!
I need 12 manikins, 1 per 2 students, and after learning how to draw people proportionally, why not talk about multiculturalism! It's a two for one! This will benefit my students visually and culturally. My K-1 students will use the multicultural crayons for their drawings, 2-3 will collage a person using the multicultural construction paper, and my 4-5 will paint a person using the multicultural paints! The DVD is for all grades so they can hear and see another option on how to draw a person.
My students will have the biggest smile on their faces when I put a manikin on their table. I will virtually send you their hugs because they will be so excited to pose the manikins themselves! You'll not only make my day but 330 student's day also. Thanks for everything you do and Go Art!
