This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a spirited bunch of sprightly sprats who are inquisitively enthusiastic learners, and many are not native speakers of English.

My students are energetic, eclectic, global young readers, who are ravenous to read more graphic novels and series that they are enthralled with; please help our students continue to engage with reading by supporting our cause!

Pre-existing lower-income and socio-economic demographics are considerably aggravated by language and cultural barriers. Nevertheless, students are eager to learn and divest themselves of previous woes. This funding opportunity will help supply some resources and bolster equitable access to education that connects them to a global community of learners free from linguistic barriers.

As a dedicated, library-oriented educator, I merely seek resources to support students in such a direction to diverse the learning process and opportunities.

My Project

Our library collection has been developing with the support of the DonorsChoose community, and our student readers have been increasing their reading as a result. The manga series and graphic novels entice students into reading and have been absolutely, positively desiring the reading to continue.

This project encourages students to keep reading the visual literature that they love and strengthens their capacity to read for longer, more dedicated periods of time.

As a result of developing this culture of literacy and reading, our students are more enthusiastic to participate in reading challenges, and literacy-related endeavors, both in the library and at home.
