My Project
My students are humble, loving, and passionate.
Despite the challenges they face, they care about each other, their families, and their education.
They possess a very giving attitude as most of them know what it's like to have very little. Your donation will provide the classroom environment that they need.
Covid 19 greatly affected their ability to deal with social and emotional anxiety. On a daily basis, we strive to create place-based learning opportunities to inspire our predominant Native Hawaiian student population.
Our mala (garden) will allow our students to have a safe space to apply their classroom learning by growing native and canoe plants for ourselves and our community. Research has shown that working in a school garden helps to combat stress and anxiety. Our mala provides not only an outdoor classroom but a peaceful environment to destress.
We are in need of irrigation supplies to properly maintain our school mala. We humbly ask for your support in providing a nurturing space to alleviate the effects of Covid 19.
