This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Before walking into my class, each of my students makes eye contact with me, smiles, and says, "Hello, Ms. Y. I am (insert a positive word or feeling word)." My goal for each of them is for them to say, "Hello, Ms. Y. I am a future (insert science/computer/math career here).

My high risk, low-income students are the joy and laughter of my soul.

They constantly inspire me with their resilience, passion for learning, and drive to become successful, productive members of the world stage. By focusing on a growth mentality, these future adults are active learners who know that with consistent hard work, they can overcome their beginnings; thus changing the world for themselves, their families, and the following generations.

My Project

This MacBook Pro will allow me to meet the academic, as well as social-emotional needs of my English Learners, low-income, special needs, and high-risk students. With the MacBook Pro, I will be able to generate intriguing and customizable lessons for my students! It is powerful enough to edit graphics, video, and run apps like Schoology and Minecraft for Education.

Most importantly, the MacBook Pro will be able to support my 180 students on Zoom without overheating and freezing.

This is key to help me build a community with my students. It is very unsettling for my students when I get kicked out of my Zoom meetings because my existing computer overheats!
