My Students
In my school, I never go through a day without a student's big smile and happy wave. My students come from a high poverty area where resources are stretched thin. We are a Title I school where 83% of my students receive free or reduced priced lunch.
Often, my students struggle in school and really deserve the supplies they need to meet the standards they will be tested on.
They are all visual learners and need concrete examples to help them understand and comprehend the skills they are learning. I have taught third grade for 5 years and have been a member of ATPE for all 5. I love what I do and love ATPE.
My Project
My students love to use our writing station right now, but sometimes struggle to figure out what to write about. They will be able to use the writing prompt box to help guide them in the right direction and develop their writing. The will also be able to look at all levels of literature using the younger level book and older levels that we have in our classroom to see how writing should change as it develops. It is important to tie our writing in with literature so that students can really see the connection. The folder games will be used to strengthen their use of grammar in stations making their writing even better. The trucks will be used as props for some of our writing prompts like during fire prevention week. We will also be able to use them during science for force and motion.
