My Students

Creativity is putting your imagination to work, and it's produced the most extraordinary results in human culture. - Ken Robinson

I teach at a Title 1, rural school on a barrier island.

Many students in our school require small group reading intervention. Having games available for them to play, especially those that involve technology, is a way that motivates my students and increases their creative thinking.

My Project

Osmo is an educational gaming system that works with iPads and transforms the physical space in front of our iPads into a digital game board. The games help increase problem solving, creative thinking, visual, spatial and abstract thinking skills. Students will play WORDS on their own or with each other. Students try to guess and spell out the on-screen hidden word by tossing down real-life letters. A related picture gives the clue. The horizontal space place will help us make the most of our wall space by creating storage opportunities underneath our whiteboard so materials are always within reach.

Osmo can open the doors to creativity and allow any content, language or education subject to be brought to life.

The unique technology in Osmo enables a mixed media spanning both digital and physical worlds. Students will be able to shape their own experience. This is just the beginning of a play movement that will bring together kids and adults alike.
