This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As we strive to teach our students using the science of reading, we need these boards to help with our small-group instruction. Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students need an opportunity to build words and work with the different phonemes to understand words.
These sheets will be created and given to our teachers to use during small group instruction.
We will use the UFLI set up to create personal word work mats for the students to use throughout each lesson. Manipulating the sounds that each phoneme makes will increase the students engagement as well as their understanding.
