This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The materials selected for this project will allow me to create engaging hands-on activities during our phonics block. Allowing first graders the opportunity to have their own magnetic whiteboard and letters, will provide them with meaningful literacy experiences. These materials would enhance our whole group and small group lessons, as well as our making words centers.
With these donations, my first graders would be able to engage in activities centered around making words, segmenting sounds, and blending sounds.
The bins will be used to store the whiteboards and letters. During our phonics instruction, students of all levels will be guided through multi-sensory lessons targeted to meet their needs in making words easy!
