Making Virtual Reality a Reality - Part 1

Help me give my students ipod touches to use with virtual reality headsets, to watch curriculum integrated videos, create and listen to podcasts, and much more!

My Students

I am the teacher of twenty energetic and remarkable 4th-grade students in a city with the most ethnically diverse neighborhood in our country! Each morning my students walk through the door and are greeted with new opportunities to learn and be successful. My students are very creative and, as their teacher, I do my best to foster their learning and provide opportunities to grow as individuals.

Each of my students comes from his or her own unique situation and home life.

We have an ethnically and economically diverse classroom full of eager learners and very hard workers. All of my students have strengths to share, as well as room to grow academically, emotionally, and socially.

My Project

Many of our students will never get to travel and experience the many wonders of our world. These iPods, along with the use of virtual headsets, will allow my students to explore and "visit" the different regions of our country and our national parks. Students will be able to take numerous virtual field trips. These ipods will allow students to "walk on Mars", "fly above forests" or "visit the Grand Canyon" without ever leaving the classroom. Through the apps and experiences available, students will be able to "see" places all over the world.

These ipods will allow students to explore different parts of our world and have an alternative learning experience that would otherwise be impossible in the classroom.

Thanks to the help of DonorsChoose, my students may have the opportunity to "experience the world" in a way that they otherwise would not have.
