it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are 18-22 years old, come from diverse backgrounds, and have autism and intellectual disabilities. They are amazing, thoughtful, and determined. I am inspired by them every day, and they motivate me to do my best.
You may be wondering what makes my students so special.
To begin with, they are the most generous and kind students you will ever meet. They are always eager to lend a hand and contribute to the greater good. They have a "never give up" mindset. Despite obstacles and setbacks, they just keep on trying until they achieve their goal!
My Project
My students are 18-22 years old and have varying levels of autism. Teaching, demonstrating, and practicing are key in my students acquisition of independence. I am beyond thrilled that for the 2021-2022 school year I will have a sink in my classroom. This will greatly increase the number of skills I can teach within my classroom.
The addition of a mini refrigerator would complete the "kitchenette" in my classroom.
My students will plan, shop, prepare and enjoy healthy meals on a weekly basis. Giving my students as many of the tools I can to reach their level of independence within the classroom is the goal of my program.
