Making the Most of Distance Learning!

Help me give my students a tablet with a stylus to that I can make distance learning and at home videos/resources better and more beneficial for them.

My Students

Never in a million years did I imagine that when my students and I said goodbye in March it would mean that it was our last day in the classroom.

My students really did WORK HARD during distance learning these past few months.

We are actively engaging in all sorts of different online platforms and learning lots of new math content. My students and I participate three times a week in Zoom meetings to go over new material, play online learning games and to celebrate each other as often as possible. In addition, I am recording lessons at home for them to view and continue to learn new material. I have been so impressed by their engagement and participation. We definitely grew in our love and appreciation of each other.

My Project

I never imagined that I would find myself remotely teaching from home, and that my students would be learning new math content through video Zoom calls and recorded home videos. It may not be the best situation, but we must make the most of all and I am excited for all the new possibilities that will come along with this.

This Apple iPad would be greatly beneficial for teaching new math content through digital learning as well as making reference videos for students when we return back to school full time.

Since March, when our school moved to distance learning, I have been teaching fifth grade math content using a standard HP laptop. It is a nice laptop but teaching new math content by "writing" all math content on Zoom with a mouse was very difficult. Many times I would have to erase all my work and start over because my students could not read it. This new tablet that comes with a stylus would make writing math content for my students to see much, much easier.
