Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are special because they love to come to school each day! On weekends or school breaks, I will ask the students if they had a good time off, and a lot will say no because they missed school and their teachers. It is heartwarming and humbling because, ​for a lot of students, school is the best part of their lives. They know they have people at school who genuinely care about them and want the best for them.

My students need help buying supplies as many of them cannot afford the necessities to be prepared every day for school.

This is a fact of life for many of them, so I need to use unconventional ways to obtain what they would deem an extra supply, but for my technology class, I deem it a necessity.

The school I teach in is a wonderful generational neighborhood. A lot of my current students are the offspring of my former students. In addition, many of the teachers have been teaching at this same school for decades, myself included. It is really a wonderful school to teach in with amazing students and staff members to spend my days with.

My Project

I am currently teaching remotely and have been for almost a full year now. My school will be moving to hybrid learning next month. I am using one laptop, and one screen to teach my students. It would be so wonderful to have two screens. Having two screens will make it much easier for me to watch my classes and present my lesson at the same time. Using just one screens, makes the aforementioned impossible.

Please help me make the impossible, possible.

Having two screens will be beneficial to the students and myself by making something that is already hard enough just a little easier.
