My students need headphones with splitters to share audio from their Chromebooks. They also need a presenter remote and HDMI to DVI adapter to share their work.

My Students
When your school is losing support due to budget cuts and class size is doubling for the same reason, students need to see that people still care about their futures. Help support Philadelphia students by providing them with functioning computers for the classroom.
Neil deGrasse Tyson once tweeted "We spend more time forcing students to learn than we do motivating them to learn in the first place." In my classroom, I strive to make the learning process come alive for my students.
My students live in an urban community surrounded by negative influences. Once they come into the classroom, it is a challenge to help them see that there is more to the world. My students dream of a better life and they are working hard to better themselves.
My Project
My students will use the materials requested in partnership with the Chromebooks they received from a previous project.
The headphone and splitters will allow two students to sit at each of the twelve Chromebooks and watch videos or complete activities without the entire classroom becoming too loud.
The presentation remote and adapter cable will allow them to connect their Chromebooks up to the classroom projector and share their projects. Taking self pride in work will really help my students to try harder and succeed.
The additional accessories with this project are for the protection and longevity of our Chromebooks. We were able to find an old storage cart in the school building, however it's built in surge protector was damaged and remains unusable. Therefore, we need safe surge protectors to allow the Chromebooks to charge. The padlocks are to keep the cart closed overnight and on weekends to protect the Chromebooks.
When our first project received funding, I was over the moon at the thought of what it meant to my students.
On the first day of school they were all excited to learn that they would be receiving new computers thanks to complete strangers. My students are used to people trying to put them down, and the encouragement of strangers really helps to show my students that people care about their education and future. Thank you.
