My Project

I have over 60 children on my caseload with varying speech and language needs, and this mix of games, books, teaching materials, and office supplies will help me address all of them. Each of my students has unique educational goals and objectives that require flexible lesson planning and a variety of materials to help them stay interested in sessions. Completing multiple repetitions of speech sounds or specific sentence structures can be tiring for kids, so I have found that games, books, colorful teaching materials, and fidget toys help them stay focused and greatly improves their progress.

My materials will all be used to enhance speech therapy sessions and to keep kids engaged.

Materials needed:

-Color Printer: for making clear, informative flashcards and diagrams of articulatory skills, sentence starters, and other speech/language targets

-Mouth Model: for demonstrating articulatory placement

-Games: are ideal for targeting multiple goals in one session. Guess who for asking and answering questions, spot it for practicing various sounds in words, magnetic bug game to use in conjunction with articulation flashcards, reading comprehension games for language goals)

-Fidget toys: to meet sensory needs and help kids focus

-Story sequencing activities: for narrative skills and overall language goals

-Action word flashcards: for targeting sentence structure, verb tense, and overall grammar

-Books: to target multiple goals including: narrative sequencing, story retell, and questioning.
