My Students

My students are all unique learners who love to learn and also love to have fun. Many of my students have trouble accessing the general education curriculum due to difficulties with comprehension, attention and processing. They are very capable of learning, however, they need to do so in a different way. My students are highly motivated by fun activities such as games.

Over half of my students reside in low income households where they don't always have access to a variety of activities.

Many of them have two working parents who might not be readily available to engage in games with them.

My Project

These materials will make a huge difference in motivating my students to learn. My students love to play games and are highly motivated by materials that they consider to be fun.

My students have an incredibly difficult time learning in the traditional way.

They don't do well with work sheets and pencil and paper activities. They all do love games and are constantly asking if they can play a game during speech.

The games that I am requesting all address a specific skill. The reading games will help my students with comprehension. The story telling kits will help the younger kids on my caseload learn to sequence and tell their own stories. The board games will help my students with pragmatic difficulties learn about turn taking, eye contact and sportsmanship.
