This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are enthusiastic, creative, eager and full of potential! They love music, stories, hands-on activities, projects and challenges that allow them to practice Spanish. They are eager to come to Spanish class and take chances with language learning in order to communicate and connect with other students in our school and in the community in which they live.

Their desire to learn a foreign language inspires me to provide meaningful and engaging lessons to feed that desire!

My students are fearless when it comes to language learning and, as children of the 21st century, they need to be prepared to engage in their world. Research shows that learning a second language boosts problem-solving, critical-thinking, and listening skills, in addition to improving memory, concentration, and the ability to multitask. Children proficient in other languages also show signs of enhanced creativity and mental flexibility.

My Project

All of my students are eager and excited to learn Spanish. They look forward to coming to class and experimenting with language learning through music, games, vocabulary games, and hands on materials. The alphabet tubs will be used to teach the Spanish alphabet. Once children have mastered the alphabet sounds, they can use the miniatures for sorting activities, memory games and more. The complete library of all-time favorite children’s stories translated into Spanish featuring classic, beautifully illustrated books like Corduroy, Goodnight Moon and The Runaway Bunny. The library of 15 books will make a terrific addition to our multilingual curriculum & gives access to text in Spanish.

The donations to this project will help keep my students motivated and excited to practice Spanish!

Whether students are bilingual or their first experience with another language, your support will make a tremendous difference to a child’s success. A child who is learning needs an encouraging and active learning environment. The items in this project will certainly do that for the students! Thank you for considering this project!
