This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This 200-hour certification focuses on various components of social-emotional learning through yoga, meditation, and community building. The Breathe 4 Change institute focuses on providing educators with a structured yoga and meditation practice that they can then introduce to their students, colleagues, and school community. I look forward to building a consistent yoga practice for myself and experiencing a sense of stillness, calm, and peace that has been dramatically affected during teaching during Covid-19. In addition, with the skills learned from this 6-month course, I will be able to hold wellness workshops at my school and in my class that will empower our school community to use the practices in their daily lives.
