My students need resources boxes and a project center to make our social studies lessons fun!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Lorenzo's classroom raised $434

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
History is being made everyday! Therefore, Social Studies lessons that are about our nation's history and how that has shaped our present should be taught through hands-on, active and authentic learning experiences.
My students are first and second graders at a charter school that infused the Arts into the curriculum.
They are engaged and eager to learn everyday. However, since I am a first year teacher my resources are quite limited. With this project I will create engaging lessons for my students.
My Project
The resources I am requesting for my classroom include a complete set of resource boxes for teaching various Social Studies lessons including Native Americans, US Government, and Heroes. These boxes include a wide variety of teaching resources that will assist me, a first year teacher, in bringing my lessons to life. Some materials are replicas, posters, pictures and much more.
I am also requesting two independent project centers. I plan to use theses as additional practice for students during centers and to encourage further learning and exploration.
I believe that this project will inspire my students with a love of history.
I hope to encourage my students to become life-long learners by creating a fun classroom environment that brings learning to life.
