My Project
I love how curious, resilient, and eager to learn my 5th graders are. Despite facing daily challenges, they come to school each day ready to grow, explore new ideas, and support one another. Many of my students come from low-income households, and nearly all qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. For some, school is the most stable and supportive place in their lives, and I want to make sure our classroom is a space that inspires and empowers them.
This project will help create a comfortable, engaging reading space that encourages independent learning and deeper understanding of social studies.
The books I’ve selected cover important historical events, key figures, and social justice topics that will help students connect personally to what they learn. The bean bag chairs will transform a small corner of our classroom into a cozy reading nook, making reading time something they look forward to. My goal is to spark a lifelong love of learning and help students develop the reading and critical thinking skills they need to succeed in middle school and beyond.
Thank you for considering a donation to help build a space where every student, no matter their background, can feel valued, comfortable, and excited to learn.
