My students are eager to learn the field of Graphic Design. Digital printing is the process of printing digital-based images directly onto a variety of media substrates. I would like to add this technique for my StuCo students to make t-shirts for our school. This project will allow me to teach my students how to create digital files such as PDF and PNG images. Take those images and print them onto transfer paper and finally transfer the image to several different materials. Students will be able to bring their designs to life with vibrant colors and exceptional detail, create personalized items, and explore new avenues of creativity by printing on various materials like fabric, wood, leather, ceramics, glass, and more.
Students will learn valuable skills such as graphic design, color theory, and the science behind digital printing as well as having the opportunity to express themselves creatively and showcase their unique designs.
This project will have a positive impact on our students as they transition to high school. Not only will they have a tangible product to show for their hard work, but they will also have gained skills that can be applied to future endeavors. This project also has the potential to spark an interest in STEM-related fields and the fashion industry.
