Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have a classroom of adorable four-year-olds. I love their eagerness and curiosity about the world around them. The children are involved in many activities throughout the day.
My children engage with their peers in choice time center activities that involve many opportunities for hands-on learning, growing, and socializing.
I would like the opportunity to engage my students more, as they learn through play each and every day.
Please help me make this dream a reality by donating to our project. Thank you!
My Project
For my project, “Making Sense of Learning BIG Things With Our LITTLE Hands,” I am asking for various sensory materials, for my writing center, for tactile play and exposure to letters. These materials will make a difference in my students’ learning because tactile learning and touch is essential for a child's growth in physical abilities, cognitive and language skills, and even social and emotional development. If a child struggles to learn through their auditory or with their visual system, they may use their tactile experiences to develop other learning skills. Hands-on learning engages children in problem-solving strategies. It allows young children to interact with the learning materials and make mistakes as they learn in a practical manner. It also helps to develop critical thinking skills and language development as they explore using their senses.
