My Students
School classrooms can often be a very dull place. Education can be more relevant and engaging when students are able to create and express themselves through their learning.
My students are creative, active, boisterous, and curious.
They want to know more about the world outside of their small town. They love music, movies, and being involved in the community. Our school is the center of the town and students receive a lot of support from members within it.
My Project
I am requesting a diversity of materials to help transform my classroom into a more exciting place to learn. I am requesting furniture (chairs, ottomans, a rug) to create a reading corner in my room. I envision this space as being a place for students to hang out, chat, and get lost in the new worlds in books. I am requesting drawing supplies, paints, canvas panels, brushes, and easels which I intend to use with my classes when we go on field trips. Students need to be able to communicate and express their ideas through visual mediums in addition to just text based assignments. I am requesting a number of PBS documentaries and other movies to use in my Government, History, Economics, and Business classes. I am requesting graphic novels to have in the classroom for students to read and will be using Maus in my Modern World History class. In short I am requesting a diversity of materials to help make learning and school more awesome.
Donations for this project will allow my students to have a reading corner for studying, art supplies for creating, and movies and books for learning.
