"Your imagination, my dear fellow, is worth more than you imagine" ~ Louis Aragon.
I am trying to heighten my students imagination and reading level by creating an amazing reading corner.
I teach in an urban diverse school.
My students come from a variety of social and economical backgrounds. Each student brings a different challenge everyday and it is fun to take that challenge and make it a success for them! Making an "A HA" moment everyday is our goal.
My Project
I am looking to get rid of my over-sized teacher desk and create a reading oasis within the classroom. Having a Media Station will help me continue to teach with the technology that is needed but make room for reading rugs, over sized pillows, scenery that helps spark the imagination, and the willingness to read and improve reading levels within each student.
This project will make a difference in the classroom because it will give the students more room to be independent learners.
It will give more room in the classroom for a reading corner. It will also give more room for students to work collaboratively with each other. I am looking forward to initiating change, creating readers, and challenging the imagination of my students this year and in the following years to come.
