This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Let's move beyond worksheets! I am an intervention specialist who works with struggling readers. The last thing they need are more worksheets!

I teach in a low-income school with many second language learners.

My kids struggle with vocabulary and comprehension. They are students who are eager to learn, but tired of reading the same-old boring worksheets! They enjoy playing games, and remember concepts when they are reinforced by game play.

My Project

I am requesting games that reinforce important concepts such as main idea, cause and effect, and making inferences. These are hard concepts for students, especially ones who are already struggling readers. These game sets are a great way for students to read on their level and have fun at the same time.

These games would make such a difference to my students, not only to reinforce reading skills, but to also help improve social skills.

They can see that even when they don't win, they still can have fun and learn something new!
