Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

All of my students are full of energy and have an excitement for learning. They appreciate the little things, which makes teaching so amazing. I can show my class a picture of something to simple, and they come up with tons of questions and observations. They work hard and they love to learn.

My 26 students are amazing kids and aim to always have a growth mindset.

My school is a Title I school and we all work as a team. We strive to see growth in each and every one of our students and, in order for that, they need to receive the best education and differentiated instruction. I believe I could make that difference in each of my first graders, and I am excited to see what the growth and hard work my class accomplishes this year and future years.

My Project

As a fourth-year teacher, I am still trying to gain as many read aloud books as I could that will teach the kids life lessons! I have been working extra hard this year to get my students to become readers and enjoy reading. I noticed that if they are in a comfy, "smart spot", they read way longer than at their desks.

Having a collection of books, a place for the books to be displayed, and comfy flexible seating, will allow my kids to enjoy reading for a longer amount of time!

I have been playing read aloud books on youtube for the kids to listen to, but it is not the same when their teacher isn't reading it. My classroom could always use some extra engaging books and new seating for the kids to read their books in!
