This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year I teach a total of 55 students. I have 27 first-graders and 28 second-graders. Our students come from a lower social-economic households. As a teacher I need to provide the materials for my students in order for them to be successful.

We are writing a Donors Choose request to get both classroom supplies, as well as supplies for our Fiesta Night in the spring.

Due to the fact that these students are in the Dual Language Program, we do an end of year school for their parents where they sing and dance. This year our students are in need of some costumes for Fiesta Night.

My Project

I am submitting this project in order to get classroom supplies for both this year and next year. These classroom supplies include, glue sticks, pencils, Expo markers, etc. I am also asking for an air conditioner. Our school building is very old and we do not have an air conditioner in our school. My classroom gets very hot at the beginning of the year and towards the end of the year. By asking for an air conditioner, my students will feel more comfortable in the classroom during these hot months. By feeling comfortable, my students will be more engaged and willing to learn.
