This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In music class, students use crayons, markers, and art supplies to create artwork for their program performances and parent engagements. Supplies are also used when we engage in small-group and independent stations, which foster personal expression and authentic engagement with musical content. Students will use tablets, poly bags, and mailbox slots to make the stations experience truly independent.

Differentiation and diversified instruction are integral to all subjects, including music.

Allowing students to interact with music through creative expression and tactile activities gives them an opportunity to fully connect with a subject that can be difficult for many kids to grasp. Coloring, technology, and autonomy break down barriers and make learning accessible for all.

The students who would benefit from your donations come from a mostly low-income background, with many being new arrivals or emergent bilinguals. Supplies purchased through this project will benefit every student in the school, including PK and special education populations.
