Making Movement Accessible for All in Physical Education

Help me give my students 2 sets of Powerlink 4s to create 4 activity stations for students to participate independently in physical activities.

My Project

Physical education is essential to the growth, development, and well-being of every student. However, traditional PE programs often do not meet the needs of students with disabilities or those who face physical or sensory challenges. In my classroom, I serve a diverse group of students with varying abilities, and I am committed to creating a learning environment where every child can participate, move, and thrive.

Adaptive PE equipment is designed to make movement and physical activity accessible for all students.

Whether it's sensory-friendly/larger sized balls, mobility-supportive gear, or equipment that will allow students in wheelchairs to engage more, these tools help remove barriers and foster inclusion. They empower students with special needs to fully engage with their peers, build motor skills, improve coordination, and experience the joy of physical play—just like any other child.

Unfortunately, specialized equipment can be costly and is often not covered by standard school budgets. By funding this project, you will help us create a more inclusive PE curriculum where all students, regardless of ability, have the opportunity to participate safely and successfully. This investment promotes not only physical health, but also self-esteem, social interaction, and emotional well-being.
